jury duty is over

Tuesday I had a drug(coke) trafficing case. We couldn't come to a conclusion late Tuesday so we had to make the decision early Wednesday morning. We could get the guy on only 1 count instead of both. That's ok he will probbly have another chance to get caught. There was just not enough evidence to get him. Even though we knew he probbly did it we just couldn't assume. Let's hope the police do a better job the next time.

Well today was my last day for jury duty. I did nothing Wednesday and Thursday(today) which was fine with me. What a groovey birthday present. To just sit and do nothing but chat with new aquaintences. We watched our baby sitters sit and high light maps and calendars for the next
round of duty. Very nice people, retired, happy people. It was a good experience for the first time. I met nice people, got to go to the market house 2 times, sit in on a jury in the new court house. And I didn't have to go to work on my Birthday. I made it through... Daddy is truly good! Would I do it again, maybe... I really believe Daddy was merciful he knew what I could handle and that's what he gave me. The other cases I could have sat on, He knew I would not have been able to handle them. He is a good Daddy... Now tomorrow is back to work...
Peace and blessings to y'all

Tonight's Activities Cancelled.
Don't shoot me I am just the messenger. The powers that be have decided to cancel our trip to the Senators game tonight due to the possible weather tonight. So there will not be anything tonight for H2O. No Senators game, no Gathering, nothing. So maybe a bunch of you could do some serious bloggin tonight instead of hanging with your favorite H2O attendee.
Enjoy your night off!

update on jury duty

Monday morning I arrived at the parking garage which is about a block away. That was no problem. Went through security. Basically same procedure as going through an airport however you get to keep your shoes on at the court house. Nice people direct you where to find the other 250 + people anxiously awaiting. The best news wasall the free coffee, espresso, cappicino and hot chocolate you can drink. After waiting about half an hour for people to arrive. Some people actually had the nerve to not show up or show up after lunch. I don't think that's a good thing. Anyhoo.
The first round of waiting to hear if your name was called was extremly nerve racking. You kinda stop breathing. After that first round of names. You quickly learn which 2 people you dread seeing entering the room. I managed to sneak past 2 of the judges radars as they are the ones that read your info sheet and decide if they want to see you in their court potentially. Well you could say 3rd times a charm cuz the 3rd round I was seen on the radar. I was selected with 29 others to go before the judge and both sides. This for the 1st 2 groups prior was a quick process. They were back in 20 minutes. However I left the jury room at 11:30 and didn't return till 3:30. It was interesting to sit through the process. I was kind of offended that I didn't get picked. But I was glad I did not get picked, as it was a rape case. I don't think I could have handled that. So at 3:30 we went back to jury room. At 4:00 those 2 ladies we dreaded seeing came back. They had good news and bad news. Good news we were dismissed for the day(monday) but had to return today(tuesday). Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

I arrived back at the courthouse today(tuesday) and grabbed my free cup of hot chocolate and settled in and caught up on the news from the previous day. There was a group of us that sorta migrated together the day before. So we discussed the juries we didn't get selected for, by that time "those dreaded ladies" came in. Everyone has to scurry back to their seats. She does roll call. Kinda like being in kindergarten. Can you believe some people still did not show up?!
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief after "they" left. A few moments later "they" were baaack.
They called the names, whew I managed to avoid the list. About 25 minutes had past "they" came back. I had this aweful feeling I was gonna get picked. Sure enough I was called. Me and 29 others lined up single file according to the order the judge chose. Now listening to this case and all the preliminary questions I had this feeling I was gonna be on this jury. Sure enough I was chosen. I had this sick feeling come over me. But then i soon felt peace come in. And soon we went for our lunch break. We came back and listened to people talking and saw evidence and then we went back to decide the outcome of this. Oh MY LORD!!! Let me just say getting 12 people to agree on one answer even when there's evidence is sooo hard! So I have to go back tomorrow to discuss and come to a discision.
I ask for prayer for my restful, peaceful sleep tonight so that I can clearly make a descision tomorrow, also that this will be a swift and accurate process. Peoples futures do hang in the balance. That's all that I can say. It's a very daunting position to be in.

I will update again soon.
Peace to you all

a prayer

Daddy bless us all as we sleep tonight, comfort us, keep us safe, refresh us, give us strength for the new day ahead. We love you, and give you praise, g'night amen....

updates and prayer requests

Hello Everyone,
As some of you might remember I asked for prayer for my mom. She had total knee replacement surgery back in May. She is doing very well. She is learning to fully bend her knee all over again. Before the operation she could not do this. She could not walk upright either. Now she is walking upright and only uses her cane when she goes on trips, like to church, grocery store. She has had little pain through the whole process. The therapist and dr.s are amazed at this. Truely prayer is and has been working. She will probbly be off from work another 3-4 weeks.

I also asked for prayer for my left foot back in May. I have been having pain and inflamation in the muscles and tendons in both heels. Through much prayer and 2 cortisone shots the inflamation is going away. Instead of being on perscription anti-inflamation med. I started myself on Aleve. whoohoo It works! Only occassionally is there pain. So God is truely good. He has been in the healing business alot in my household lately. So we are believing for complete healing in my feet. And for none of these problems to return.

The third item. Tomorrow(Monday) is the first day of my jury duty. I went today to scope out the land so I know where I am going so that's a relief, however there is still a little anxiety. I ask for a restful nights sleep and no fear tomorrow. So please pray for me as I go there this week. Especially tomorrow morning. That fear of the unknown thing. Yeah sooo... hey thanks guys for all the prayer and encouragement.
Peace to everyone tonight and this week.
